A Guide's Life
From childhood, Rodger was captivated by the wilderness. Having grown up in the Drakensberg Mountains in South Africa, Rodger spent his youth fly-fishing in some of the purest rivers in the country and birding the hotspots of the KwaZulu Natal Midlands.
On numerous occasions, his school teacher reported a young Rodger constantly staring at birds through the classroom window. Naturally, becoming a guide was engrained in him from an early age.
After school, Rodger's career started at a guiding institute on Shamwari Private Game Reserve. After completing his levels, he went on to spend the next eight years working on private game reserves around South Africa and managing lodges in Kenya and Mozambique.
He loves sharing his stories and knowledge with his guests and always ensures they leave with a little piece of Africa in their hearts.

HOME
Having settled in Cape Town, Rodger partnered with African Lynx Travel, offering high-end private guiding in and around the vibrant city. If he is not on a trip, you will find him mountain biking the trails around the Western Cape or simply spending time with family and friends.

In the past fifteen years, Rodger has traveled to wilderness destinations across South Africa, Zambia, Botswana,Namibia, Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Southeast Asia, and the Himalayas. Rodger combines his guiding skills with his love for photography, culture, and travel to provide his guests with an exceptional experience, unlike any other.
